Lectures
We offer a number of lectures about the relationship between archaeology, politics and society. The lectures are intended both for groups who have visited "The City of David" and are interested in hearing an alternative viewpoint, and for groups that have not visited the site.
The lectures will focus on Jerusalem's vast archaeological repertoire, the impact of archaeology on the Israeli – Palestinian conflict and its influence on the residents of Jerusalem and the city's future.
We suggest two lectures:
1. Archaeology, Politics and Society – Silwan ("The City of David") as a test case.
2. Appearance or Identity – The impact of the touristic development of Yamin Moshe neighborhood and of the village of Silwan on their residents.
The Length of the lectures can range between half an hour to an hour and a half and can be accompanied by a multi-media presentation, a movie and a discussion.
